Nine Favorite Things
Hey everyone! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. Can you believe we’re heading into the last week of August already? No one really wants to say goodbye to summer, but at the same time, I think so many of us are secretly excited for fall.
I love this stretch from September through December. September especially feels so magical — the golden light, the trees just beginning to turn, the cooler nights and crisp mornings, and of course, apple season. I could go on and on. It’s one of my favorite times of year.
And the recipes! Next week I’ll be sharing my list of what to cook all September long, so many cozy, yummy dishes. What are you most excited for?
It’s shaping up to be a busy month too. Everyone seems to jump back into action in September. I’ll be in Dallas, New York, and maybe even LA. To be honest, I’m excited but nervous — a little anxious, a little scared, but mostly happy. It feels good to be working on big-picture goals. I’m hoping we can figure out how to make it all come together.
In the kitchen, I’ve started testing September recipes and diving into fall content. With apple season nearly here and football season kicking off, I have so many ideas brewing. And yes, Cocktail-Mocktail Saturdays will be back the first week of October! I’ve already been ordering new glasses in preparation.
And lastly, it’s been so fun seeing so many of you share your love for the Pumpkin Smash Candle and the new Pumpkin Smash Body Butter too! I love that you’re enjoying them as much as I am.
That’s all I have this week. So much to look forward to in the next few months! I hope everyone is feeling that excitement!
Tell me — what recipes are you excited for this September? And what drinks will you be mixing up?
If you need easy back to school recipe, I put together some of my favorite 45 Most Popular Back-to-School Recipes
using non-stop…the Caraway Home food storage set. It’s so perfect and really cute too, Great for leftovers, food prep, and packing lunches to go!
working out…in cute workout clothes! Now that I’m lifting and working in pilates with Melissa Wood Health on off days, I’ve really become excited about activewear. I want to order new “gym only” sneaks (share suggestions!), so I’m on the lookout for those. This week I ordered this Airbrush Better Together Bra. These are my favorite Alosoft Leggings + Bootcut Sweatpant. And while I was grabbing these links, I also ended up adding this Sheer Cashmere Cropped Cardigan to my cart. And then decided to go with the entire look, the Grand Slam Tennis Skirt, and Splendor Bra.
wanting…this very pretty croc-effect leather notebook from Smythson. But is it really worth the price? Target’s notebooks are cute too. And this is a cute notebook from MAISON de SABRÉ.
loving…Boll & Branch! I talk about their bedding often, but with fall coming up, I just ordered another down comforter from them. If I had to tell you to order one product from B&B, it would be their down comforter. It’s my favorite and keeps me so warm on cold Colorado nights.
everything in my cart (low)…a very cute and perfect for fall, large tote in suede. I’d style this with the Free People Most Wanted Cardi and leather jacket. This is a cute cord pendant necklace. And I ordered this Reformation Lindie Tee in blonde, midnight, and heather grey. I probably should have just grabbed the white too. I love the V-neck!
From Zara for fall, a stunning Suede Leather Jacket. But also, this Faux Leather Jacket. Wow, so many good jackets at Zara right now!
The perfect Short Sleeve Knit Sweater and Basic Cashmere and Wool Sweater. Plus, I love this Plain Knit Polo Sweater and Short Sleeve Knit Polo Top too.
My ideal Leather Bag for fall and pretty Leather Kitten Heel Boots.
And lastly, this Denim Jacket and Denim Crossover Button Skort set. So cute with a Suede Kitten Heel or the boots above.
listening to….
eating…fresh figs. It’s finally fig season! Our Whole Foods received fresh figs this week and I can’t stop eating them. I mostly just eat them as is, but I’m thinking about making a Fig Bourbon Cider Smash for a Saturday night cocktail. Or maybe just adding them to my favorite harvest apple salad.
ordered…cinnamon sticks. I always stock up on these fancier cinnamon sticks before they sell out. I love using them for cupcakes, my Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Latte, or to mix up my favorite fall cocktails.
bookmarking…. Saving this for our Italy trip this winter.
dreaming of going…. The prettiest boutique hotel in Santa Barbara. I want to do a weekend here. I’ve never been to Santa Barbara. I would love the cottage. So cute and sweet! Or the cottage. How pretty!! I’m excited, and I don’t even have anything planned!
loving…the Studio McGee Halloween home tour. They shared their decked-out house for Halloween so early this season, but it has me so excited. How cute! Do you decorate for Halloween or just fall in general? Studio McGee has a line of Halloween decor that is super cute. I’m also sharing some below!
shopping…the new Staud jean collection. I love the Leo jean in vintage wash.
playing…Monopoly Deal. Have you guys played this yet? It’s basically a quicker Monopoly that you can bring anywhere you go. Fun fact, I love board games, puzzles, and while I don’t know many card games, I’m sure they are fun too!
everything in my cart (beauty)…YOU GUYS! I got the Rare Beauty Rare Eau de Parfum with Vanilla and Caramel, and it is so sweet and delicious. A perfect fall scent with the caramel and vanilla notes. It’s a wonderful, warm, and spicy scent.
very curious about…this HigherDOSE Red Light Hat for hair vitality. I mean, why wouldn’t you give this a try? Easy to use, and you don’t have to do anything. Cool! Also, the microcurrent body sculptor. This is a lymphatic drainage tool, which I’m ALL for. But to be honest, I don’t think I could take the time to commit to doing it nightly. I dry brush every night using this brush, but this would be yet another step! Probably too much, but maybe if you’re doing a weekend “everything” shower! Here’s an article with tips!

pre-ordered…New Again: 100+ projects and ideas to reimagine your furniture and decor. This book looks super cute. Full of DIY projects and crafts, and it looks like it has lots of photos too. My kind of book!
everything in my cart (high)…this off-the-shoulder crinkled-organza maxi dress would be pretty for a fall wedding.
This is my favorite ÉTERNE Boyfriend cashmere T-shirt. I have it in black and off-white. I need to order a new set for fall.
This is a pretty scoopneck dress in midnight or bubble bath. Layer this with a jacket for chilly days. Speaking of fall dresses, this Suede Maxi Dress is stunning and a perfect dress for autumn nights. And the color of this Sleeveless Silk Mini Dress from Khaite is perfect. Pair with this Wedge Mule from Fendi.
If you’re looking for something long-sleeved, the Draped Cape Maxi Dress from Bottega is perfect. The yellow shade is so great!
Oh, these Suede Shorts in Burgundy are cute too. Just add the matching Suede Cargo Jacket and tall boots.

Why don’t you let any of the comments through that come later in the week? It seems after 2-3 days you stop letting any through. That’s frustrating. Feels like a waste of time to read your blog and share commentary if you’re going to ignore them.
Hi Mira! I’m sorry it feels that way! I really do read and value every comment, no matter when it comes in. Sometimes it just takes me a little longer to get to them. If there was a specific question you had that didn’t get answered, will you let me know? I’d love to make sure you’re not left hanging! xT
Really good NFT! You never disappoint!
That Studio McGee Halloween decor is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for – upscale spooky. More elegant than cutesy.
That Marinated Cherry Tomatoes with Burrata is absolutely going up to the mountains with me this coming weekend! Thanks for mentioning the Fig Bourbon Cider Smash cocktail and the Fall Apple Salad – think I’ll take them to the mountains too. BTW… I think a Fig Bourbon Cider Smash candle sounds incredible. Imho.
Loving the cooler weather and looking forward to seeing what Team HBH has up their sleeve for fall.
Keep being awesome!
Hi Nancie! Love hearing this!! Upscale spooky is exactly the vibe, and I’m so glad you found some favorites to take with you to the mountains, sounds like the perfect fall weekend. A Fig Bourbon Cider Smash candle would be amazing (now I want one too!). Thanks so much for following along and for all the kind words, so sweet of you! xT
If you don’t watch football why are you always mentioning football season and game day? People would probably be more interested in hearing you talk about things you’re actually into.
Hey Kai! I love the comfort and the fun the football season brings each year!! Footballs means fall is here, fun game nights with my family, good food, I love it!
Hope you have had a great Tuesday! Thanks for the comment! xT
Sign me up!!!
When is the August photo shoot you have scheduled? Would love to hear more about your plans!
Hi Lizzie! More details on photoshoots and travels coming soon! Thanks so much for reading, have a great week! xT
Did it get rescheduled? Sorry for the double post, but I don’t see my question!
Hi Lizzie! Just sorting out some scheduling details but will keep you all posted on my travels/projects! 🙂 xT
Can you explain “ask Tieghan” a little bit more? Is this for asking specific types of questions or is it for any questions we may have? Just trying to understand when I need to start my questions with that.
Hey Lisa! You can ask me anything here! Whatever you are curious about!
If it’s in regards to this post and something I shared within the content, you can just ask that like normal. I will always answer!!
Does this make sense? Hope you think this is a fun feature!!
Have a good week! xT
Hi Tieghan! Glad to see you’re getting back to work and that your foot has healed. I’ve sprained my ankle before and it was rough.
I noticed you didn’t mention Asher’s birthday this year! Are you guys not as close anymore since she’s been spending most of her time with her SILs? Relationships change over time, for sure. Either way— happy birthday, Asher!! Hope she has the best day.
Hey Kelly! You are so sweet, thank you!
Asher and I talk almost every night! She still my best friend! Love that girl!
She doesn’t know what she wants to do for her birthday this year. We’ll have a fun night or day I am sure!!
Have a good week! xT
Just wanted to tell you how much my husband and I loved your Garlic Butter Creamed Corn Chicken! It was so delicious! One of my favorites!
Aw thank you so much Patti! Love to hear that you and your husband are enjoying the recipes! Have a great week, and thanks again! 🙂 xT
Boll & Branch is IT for bedding.
Hey Nancy! I agree! I really love their stuff! 🙂 xT
“ I want to order new “gym only” sneaks (share suggestions!), so I’m on the lookout for those.”
You’ve shared quite a few pairs of sneakers almost weekly since you hurt your foot – none of those will work?
Hey Diane! I ordered a few pairs and didn’t love them so I am still looking! I did love a Nike sneaker and have been wearing those however! They are great!!
I shared last week! Super cute too!
Have a great week ahead! xT
I went to fleet feet and had my feet analyzed for running shoes and came back with diadoras which I now adore. I had never heard of the brand before but now I love them. they are really supportive! But maybe going to fleet feet or somewhere similar could help finding the right pair!
Thanks so much for sharing this suggestion, Hannah! What a great idea!
Okay that suede maxi dress is GORGEOUS. But at $5000+, I think it’s a bit more than “a perfect dress for autumn nights”. I’m not sure many people that could afford that just for fun. I’m my sisters matin of honor for her wedding next month and I can’t even justify that price for that event. …it is beautiful though
Hey Deb! I know it’s so pretty! I will try and find something similar! If I find something good I will share it next week!
Your sisters wedding sounds fun! Congrats!
Have a nice week! xT
All these clothes you’re always ordering, how come we never see you wearing them? Why don’t you do try-on videos or OOTD posts? If you’re always in sweats working in the kitchen then why order new clothes?
Hey Caitlin! I order new clothes typically for trips! And when I travel I always do my best to share my outfits too!
I have been ordering new activewear for workouts! Been having a lot of fun with that! I shared a few pieces in today’s post.
Have a great week!! xT
I make a blue, Gruyère, mozzarella cheese with caramelized fig and onion jam, fresh fig, thyme pizza during fig season.
Oh wow that sounds incredible! Have an amazing week Anne! 🙂 xT
