Nine Favorite Things

I shared last week that Iโ€™m in Austin working on a new project for the next couple of weeks. Iโ€™m still keeping my lips sealed on the details, but I also mentioned that this project hasnโ€™t been easy. At first, it was definitely a challenge to find my groove. But Iโ€™m excited to say that as the week has gone on, things have finally started to fall into place and the flow feels really good. Working outside of my comfort zone for so long has been tough, but the challenge has also been really good for me. Itโ€™s pushed me creatively in a new way, which has been nice.

As the week progressed, things slowly improved and I started to feel more confident in what Iโ€™m working on, which feels great.

I shared a quote below that a friend sent me, and it really encompasses what Iโ€™m trying to embrace and live by right now.

The friend who shared the quote is actually the founder of The Liv Method, the gym I train with. Strength training has honestly been one of the biggest positives in my life this past year. Iโ€™ve loved learning, building strength, and growing my confidence. And truthfully, the workouts are sometimes better than a therapy session.

Anyway, Austin is in full SXSW (South by Southwest) mode right now, so everything is very crowded, but itโ€™s also fun to feel the energy around the city. I was actually asked to speak on a panel again this year at the Create & Cultivate Future Summit. Sadly, my schedule couldnโ€™t make it work this time. Still, it meant a lot to be asked.

I did attend their dinner on Friday night after a very long day on set, and it was so nice to see both old and new friends โ€” and honestly just get out for the night. It had been a while.

Tonight Iโ€™m meeting a friend for a late dinner after we wrap up work, which will be really nice.

Itโ€™s a lot of go, go, go here โ€” balancing long days on set and then working at night to manage everything else that needs to get done. But Iโ€™m really grateful for this time here and to be so busy working on new things for you all. This is what I love. Good things to come!

Keeping me sane and calm through it all are my mom and sister. I talk with my mom nightly to go over business to-dos for the site (and get a few pep talks too). Asher and I talk as much as possible. Our conversations are mostly about the clothes weโ€™re loving lately. It was Paris Fashion Week last week. We both loved the Dior show the most. The new Fendi Baguette bags completely stole our hearts. Weโ€™re obsessed. Itโ€™s so fun chatting with her, and I canโ€™t wait to see her soon.

Iโ€™m sharing a few new favorites below. What are you doing for St. Patrickโ€™s Day?

Happy Sunday, and almost spring!

1. Things Iโ€™m Loving.

usingโ€ฆthis handheld BLACK+DECKER Clean Handheld Vacuum. It works so well for getting up all those small crumbs! Tip: Use it on the table to clean up after dinner, then wipe the table!ย

dreaming of goingโ€ฆhonestly, so many places! Iโ€™ve seen so much travel this week, and now all I want is a warm destination. Thailand is far, but how pretty are these resorts!

lovingโ€ฆthe new Asics sneakers. This might sound weird, but I have indoor sneakers and outdoor sneakers. I need a new pair of indoor sneakers since Iโ€™m in Austin for so long.

readingโ€ฆHealthy with a Side of Happy: 100 Plant-Based Recipes to Feed Your Family by Sabrina Rudin. Iโ€™ve loved Sabrina for years; she owns the Spring Cafe in New York and Aspen. Delicious! ย

everything in my cart (high)โ€ฆI love the new Valentinoย Open Toe Rรฉvรฉlรฉ Suede Pumps. At first glance, I wasnโ€™t sure, but I think they are so pretty! And these Chanel pumps too.

I know this Chanel Large Shopping Bag is insanely expensive, but I love it as a work bag! Very basic, but the simplicity is what makes it so pretty!

I want a trench for spring weather, and this Trench Coat is cute!

lovingโ€ฆmy fun spring Nails. No one better than that Russian Girl here in Austin!ย

5. Good Things.

Every night I make sure to write down three good things from the day. They can be simpleโ€”like waking up to sunlight or getting in a walk along the lake. Or even bigger wins, like checking everything off my daily to-do list, having a great day on set, sending an exciting email, or even a new candle delivery (which I just got!).

Taking a moment to reflect on both the big and small wins has become such a positive habit. It keeps me grounded, grateful, and helps me end each day on a good note.ย

A few little wins from this week

โ€” a great workout before heading to set
โ€” loving everything about our day on set
โ€” the sun peeking through the clouds tonight
โ€” talking to Asher โ€” she always makes me smile
โ€” getting to talk to my mom every night this week (it feels really good)
โ€” new candles that I absolutely love
โ€” a surprise text from a sweet friend
โ€” feeling a little less stressed today
โ€” learning something new
โ€” fresh flowers on the counter
โ€” getting outside and soaking up some sun

Itโ€™s the little things and the big ones. Writing them down each night has been such a simple way to end the day on a positive note.

Tell me one good thing from your week!

    1. Hey there,
I think itโ€™s a fun store! Lots of different things to try and a nice place for a quick shopping trip!

  1. I love that you are finding happiness in the littlest things, while conquering big things simultaneously. I feel like as we get older thatโ€™s the best place to find peace and confidence. I hope your new project is a great success. Thank you for sharing; I really look forward to your Sunday blog and reading new recipes.

    1. Hey Darcy,

  3. Love that a fellow Coloradan is so successful, continues to make her brand more and more known, and slaying it all over the country!
Yes, Thailand would be a โ€˜warmโ€™ climate to visit. It has, I think itโ€™s said, 3 seasons, hot, hot and raining, and VERY hot! Sometimes itโ€™s a nice hot, but sometimes, when there is so much to see in Thailand, youโ€™d rather be inside in the air-conditioning than seeing their beautiful country.
The open toe Valentino pumpโ€ฆa big no! even if you have the prettiest feet in the world, those shoes simply look like an unfinished prototype to me and not very attractive.

    1. Hey Taylor,
I appreciate you reading today and taking the time to comment! Good to know about the Thailand seasons, I think it would be super fun to visit!

Hope you are having a great Sunday!

  4. You have to be one of the sweetest prettiest individualโ€™s I follow. I can not cook! Lol. I follow you, because you are so interesting and fun. You also wear sensational clothes.

My daughter is in Round Top, TX right now at โ€œthe Arborsโ€ with her @theugliebutterfly business!! If you can get awayโ€ฆit will be a fun day of shopping/sightseeing!
And I know you would love a hoodie from her, for you, Asher or some customs for the family! You had so many great pictures from Italy! Anyhowโ€ฆhope you have some fun while you are down there working! Canโ€™t wait to see what it holds.

    1. Hey Shelly,
Thanks so much for taking the time to read each week! Thanks for sharing your daughterโ€™s business, I will definitely have to check it out!

    2. Jennifer, same! My husband and I had the amazing opportunity, several years ago, to run with an Iditarod team in training โ€“ absolutely unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience! Iโ€™m still amazed at how small the dogs are โ€“ you have to see it to believe it โ€“ the athleticism โ€“ of the dogs as well as the driver.

Those dog blankets are next level incredible!
